Speed Meets Smooth: The Next Generation of Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is in high demand, and it’s only growing. That’s why Sciton created OMNI-a fast, versatile laser hair removal system built to deliver precise results on every skin type. Its unique combination of wavelengths targets melanin effectively while protecting the skin, so you can treat patients confidently year-round.

What Does OMNI Mean?

Omni as is play on the Latin prefix omni-, which means “all” or “every.”

It was chosen to highlight the platform’s three main “Alls”:

All Skin Types: It uses a blend of three different laser wavelengths (Alexandrite, Diode, and Nd:YAG) so it can safely treat everyone from very fair to very deep skin tones.

All Areas: Its large and small handpieces allow it to treat everything from a large back to a tiny upper lip.

All-in-One: It consolidates multiple technologies into a single machine, so we don’t need different lasers for different patients.

To put it in its simplest explanation, it is “One for All. All in One.”

What can OMNI treat?

1. Every Skin Tone

This is the Omni’s biggest strength.

Fair Skin: It uses a wavelength (Alexandrite) that is incredibly effective for light skin.

Deep/Dark Skin: It uses a safer wavelength (Nd:YAG) that bypasses the surface of the skin to hit the hair root without causing burns.

Tanned Skin: It can even be adjusted to treat skin that has been in the sun (though you should still tell your provider!).

2. Every Body Area

Because it has different attachment sizes, it can treat:

Large Areas: Back, chest, and full legs (very fast—often under 15 minutes).

Delicate Areas: Upper lip, bikini line, and underarms.

Contoured Areas: Jawline, neck, and ears.

3. Most Hair Colors

If the hair has pigment (color), the Omni can likely treat it:

Black and Dark Brown (Best results).

Medium Brown and Auburn.

Darker shades of Blonde.

4. Ingrown Hairs & Irritation

Beyond just removing hair, it treats the side effects of shaving:

Razor Bumps: It kills the follicle so the hair stops curling back into the skin.

“Strawberry Legs”: It clears out the dark pores caused by thick hair roots.

Folliculitis: It reduces inflammation caused by infected hair follicles

What to Expect?

The Sciton Omni is known for being one of the fastest and most comfortable hair removal lasers on the market. Unlike older lasers that use thick, sticky gels, the Omni uses a specialized cooling spray and advanced “blended” wavelengths to make the process much smoother.

Here is what you can expect before, during, and after your session:

1. Preparation (Before You Go)

Shave: You should shave the treatment area 24 to 48 hours before your appointment. The laser needs to target the root, not the hair above the skin.

Avoid Sun: Stay out of the sun and avoid self-tanners for at least 2 weeks prior.

Skip the Wax: Do not wax, pluck, or thread for at least 4 weeks before your session, as the laser needs the hair follicle to be intact.

2. During the Treatment

No Messy Gel: One of the best parts of the Omni is that it uses “Spritz,” a clean, aloe-based spray, instead of the heavy clear gels used by other lasers.

The Sensation: Most people describe it as a “warm snap” or a light rubber band flick. Because of the built-in sapphire cooling tip, the skin stays chilled, which significantly reduces pain.

Speed: It’s incredibly fast. A small area like the underarms can take less than a minute, while a full back or legs might take only 10–15 minutes.

3. Immediately After

Redness: You might see some slight redness or “perifollicular edema” (tiny bumps that look like a mild heat rash) around the hair follicles. This usually fades within a few hours.

Zero Downtime: You can go right back to work or your daily routine. Just avoid hot tubs, saunas, or heavy exercise for 24 hours.

4. The Results Timeline

Shedding: Over the next 1 to 3 weeks, the treated hairs will begin to “shed.” They might look like they are growing back, but they are actually being pushed out of the follicle.

Session Count: Since hair grows in cycles, you’ll typically need 6 to 8 sessions spaced about 4 to 8 weeks apart for permanent reduction.

The “Clear” Phase: After a few sessions, you’ll notice the hair growing back much thinner, lighter, and eventually, not at all.

Note: Sciton Omni is safe for all skin types (from very fair to deep skin tones) because it can blend different laser wavelengths to protect the surface of the skin while destroying the hair at the root
